Commissions on white fabric goods

Designs on FabricAt last! Something for the person who has everything!

When you are looking for a present that is just that little bit different, why not commission a pair of boxers? Alternatively, you could try some hand decorated handkerchiefs, a set of pillow cases or even a pack of ladies briefs.

There are no limits, the key proviso is simply that whatever your fabric item is, it has to be white. This is so the inks will show with suitable vibrancy. Woven cotton fabric is best, though cotton jersey is possible but the results aren't quite as vivid.

The price you will pay depends on the cost of the raw materials as well as the time it will take me to do the art work and the usual postage and packing. So if you are interested all you have to do is get in touch and I will send you a quote.

This is a flexible process so if you should find you can source the items you want decorated more cost effectively than me, you are welcome to do so and send them to me for painting.

Artist Profile

[Image] Artist Mary McGuire

Mary McGuire has always been an inveterate doodler; during lessons at school, lectures at university and later, at work, meetings.

From an early age, she also drew pictures as presents for friends and relatives, usually when she was at a loss as to what else to give them or too skint to be able to buy them a proper gift.

Gradually, they started commissioning her hand drawn artwork to give to their friends and before she knew it Drawnbyhand had appeared.

This went on quietly, behind the scenes, for some time until the friends grew up, as people do, had children and started commissioning their offspring's names in artwork. Before she knew it, a niche market appeared and Mary now earns her living drawing name art.

As well as here, online, she exhibits in a gallery in her home town.

“George loves his ABC and Chad keeps drawing angler fish. His teachers think he's a genius! ” - Helen.

“You know how to draw things that appeal to children - which is a rare enough gift on its own - but your art appeals to grown ups, too. That's why I think it's special.” - Elaine.
